We were pleased to be one of a number of industry partners supporting an Industry Day for student plumbers.
Held at New City College’s brand new Construction & Engineering Centre in Rainham, Essex, we went along to help run a series of competitions and challenges, giving expert guidance to help them.
Some of the challenges were based on skills they have already learnt on the course and for others, they had to learn new ones and use them, like hard soldering and brazing on 55mm and 75mm copper pipe.
The event was organised and run by SoPHE – Society of Public Health Engineers, of which our Operations Manager, Sanjay Modasia is a part of, giving his time voluntarily to support young engineers coming into the industry.
For the past eight years, he’s been part of the steering group and then became the Chair of the Contractors Group when it formed five years ago.
Events like this are organised regularly to give a vital insight into the industry and are well supported by JA Brooks and other industry partners.
