Central to our sustainability strategy is The Pod, our advanced prefabrication facility, which serves as a cornerstone of our eco-friendly construction approach.
Innovative Solar Power Generation:
The Pod is powered by an extensive array of over 440 solar panels, which collectively generate 3.9 MWh of renewable energy each day. This initiative drastically reduces our reliance on fossil fuels, thereby decreasing our carbon emissions by 32.97 tonnes annually—an effort equivalent to planting 1,514 trees each year.
Advanced Rainwater Harvesting:
Our facility incorporates a sophisticated rainwater harvesting system capable of saving approximately 171,787 litres of water annually. This system is pivotal in reducing our consumption of municipal water supplies and exemplifies our commitment to sustainable resource management.
Reducing Waste with DfMI:
At The Pod, we implement Design for Manufacture and Installation (DfMI) processes that optimize the use of materials and reduce waste. By prefabricating components off-site, we not only enhance efficiency and reduce on-site labour needs but also significantly decrease the environmental impact associated with traditional construction methods.
Sustainability Through Training and Safety:
The Pod also functions as a Manufacturing Training Centre, where our team enhances their skills in cutting-edge construction techniques. This training ensures that sustainability is woven into the fabric of our operations, promoting safety and efficiency that aligns with our environmental goals.
Commitment to Net Zero Carbon:
These initiatives are part of our broader strategy to achieve Net Zero Carbon emissions by 2040. We are committed to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), setting clear, measurable goals that ensure our projects contribute positively to the global fight against climate change.
